Job Description

Role Description As part of strategic growth plans and recent rail project awards, we are seeking to recruit an Electrical Engineer (Railway MEP / E&P) with a proven track record in the delivery of rail infrastructure and building services projects. The role will be based in our Glasgow office and will support the design and delivery of Electrical & Power systems across station, depot, and trackside environments. Role Accountabilities Undertake electrical design for railway MEP and E&P systems on UK (and where applicable international) projects, with a strong understanding of Network Rail, British and International Standards Undertake technical tasks in accordance with the company’s quality, safety and engineering management procedures, including IDC, DRA and design assurance processes Prepare calculations, technical reports, specifications and drawings to support design development and delivery Delivery of technical packages including: Building Services electrical designs Trackside fixed plant designs, including Points Heating, signalling power, small power and lighting systems etc Power supply and distribution systems, including DNO interfaces, LV distribution and UPS systems Cable management systems, ducting and routing strategies Lighting and lighting control, including platform and emergency lighting in accordance with relevant standards Earthing and bonding designs in accordance with applicable standards Experience working on multidisciplinary projects Qualifications & Experience Proven experience in electrical design within a consultancy environment Good understanding of UK rail standards and design assurance processes, particularly Network Rail requirements Competent user of office IT and design software tools, including: Amtech / Trimble for electrical calculations Dialux for lighting design Working knowledge of MicroStation and ProjectWise Our Commitment to Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging We want you to be able to bring your best self to work every day which is why we take equality and inclusion seriously and hold ourselves to account for our actions.
