Energy Transition Graduate Analyst / Analyst

This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or early-career professional to join a specialist team working across energy policy, decarbonisation and the future development of Northern Ireland's energy system.

MCS Group is working with an established organisation to appoint an Energy Transition Graduate Analyst / Analyst. You don't need previous experience in the energy sector - we're looking for someone with strong analytical ability, genuine curiosity and the confidence to get to grips with complex information and turn it into clear, useful insight.

What will you be doing?

• Research key developments shaping Northern Ireland's energy transition.
• Analyse data and evidence to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Support the development of clear, evidence-based policy positions.
• Contribute to consultations, reports and policy briefings.
• Engage with government, regulators and industry stakeholders.
• Help develop presentations and communications on complex energy topics.
• Support industry events, stakeholder meetings and wider energy transition projects.

The Person

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Essential:

• A 2:1 degree or above, or be on track to achieve this before taking up the role, in a relevant discipline.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, demonstrated through academic study, projects, employment or other relevant experience.
• The ability to work through detailed or unfamiliar information, identify key issues and communicate conclusions clearly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex subjects to a wider audience.
• A logical and objective approach to assessing information, arguments and evidence.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• A collaborative approach and the confidence to work with colleagues and stakeholders at different levels.

Experience within the energy sector isn't essential. Experience with Excel, data analysis, strategic thinking or collaborative project work would be advantageous.

• Salary: £31,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
