ELV / DATA CENTER TECHNICIAN

Base Location: Hyderabad, Telangana

Deployment: AWS Data Center Facilities – Hyderabad/Telangana

Working Hours: 48 Hours per Week

Minimum Commitment: 1 Year

Job Summary

We are looking for experienced and competent ELV / Data Center Technicians for deployment at AWS Data Center facilities in Hyderabad/Telangana.

The selected technicians must be capable of working independently and consistently within a live, mission-critical data center environment, strictly following site procedures, safety requirements, quality standards, and client/AWS compliance requirements.

Candidates with previous AWS Data Center experience and/or a valid AWS Yellow Badge will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation, termination, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of ELV and structured cabling systems.
• Installation and termination of fiber optic and copper cabling, including patch panels, racks, cabinets, and associated infrastructure.
• Fiber cable pulling, routing, dressing, labeling, patching, and basic testing.
• Copper cable installation, termination and testing, including Cat6/Cat6A or equivalent systems.
• Installation and maintenance of data center containment and associated passive network infrastructure.
• Perform equipment/rack-related cabling activities according to approved drawings, method statements, and client procedures.
• Carry out troubleshooting and rectification activities independently.
• Follow all AWS site access, security, EHS, operational and compliance procedures.
• Ensure that all work is performed without causing alarms, service interruptions, damage, or operational incidents.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping, documentation, and site discipline.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and client representatives for daily work activities.
• Immediately report any incident, alarm, damage, safety concern, or deviation from approved procedures.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in ELV, structured cabling, fiber optic, telecom, or data center projects.
• Hands-on experience in fiber optic and copper structured cabling.
• Ability to perform cable pulling, dressing, labeling, termination, patching, and testing.
• Good understanding of data center working practices and mission-critical environments.
• Ability to understand drawings, cable schedules, labeling standards, and work instructions.
• Must be capable of working independently with minimum supervision.
• Strong awareness of safety, quality, security, and operational compliance.
• Willingness to complete required background verification, AWS onboarding, training and badging processes.
• Previous experience working in AWS or other hyperscale data centers such as Microsoft, Google, Meta, etc. will be an advantage.
• Existing valid AWS Yellow Badge is a major advantage.
  

Candidate Requirements

Candidates should be:

• Based in Hyderabad or willing to relocate to Hyderabad.
• Available for a minimum 1-year project commitment.
• Willing to work 48 hours per week and in shifts where required.
• Willing to work across different AWS facilities within Hyderabad/Telangana.
• Able to successfully complete all client-required background checks, training, security and badging requirements.
• Disciplined and capable of strictly following data center procedures, particularly procedures relating to alarms, incidents and operational risks.

The primary base will be Hyderabad. Where deployment outside the agreed base location is required, applicable travel and accommodation arrangements will be provided as per project requirements.

Preferred Certifications / Experience

Preference will be given to candidates having one or more of the following:

• AWS Yellow Badge / previous AWS Data Center access
• Data Center structured cabling experience
• Fiber optic installation and termination experience
• Fluke testing experience
• OTDR / fiber testing knowledge
• Cat6/Cat6A termination and certification experience
• Relevant ELV / Fiber Optic / Structured Cabling certifications
