Electronics Test And Repair Technician

Location: Crawley, West Sussex (close to Gatwick Airport)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 3:30pm
Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum, depending on experience
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

A well-established company based in Crawley is looking to recruit an experienced Electronics Test & Repair Technician to join a team of five technicians.

This is a hands-on role involving the diagnosis, testing and repair of a range of electrical and electronic equipment. The successful candidate will be methodical in their approach, capable of fault-finding to component level, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

• Testing and fault-finding electrical and electronic equipment (EEE)
  
  
• Diagnosing and repairing faults to component level
  
  
• Reading and interpreting electronic schematics and circuit diagrams
  
  
• Identifying electronic components and understanding their function within a circuit
  
  
• Carrying out soldering and rework activities as required
  
  
• Working with wiring assemblies and cable looms
  
  
• Using standard electronic test equipment including multimeters and continuity testers
  
  
• Recording repair findings and maintaining accurate documentation
  
  
• Occasionally liaising directly with customers to discuss faults, clarify issues and provide technical feedback
  
  

Requirements

• Previous experience in an electronics environment
  
  
• Ability to read and understand electronic schematic drawings
  
  
• Good knowledge of electronic components and basic fault-finding techniques
  
  
• Experience of soldering and electronic assembly work
  
  
• Competent in the use of basic electronic test equipment
  
  
• Logical, methodical and detail-oriented approach to troubleshooting
  
  
• Good communication skills and a professional manner when dealing with customers
