Job Description
Shifts 12‑hour shifts (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am). Week 1: 4 night shifts, 3 days off. Week 2: 3 day shifts, 1 day off, 3 night shifts.
Week 3: 3 days off, 4 day shifts. Then: 7 days off. Overview The Electrical Shift Engineer will support site operations by carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across electrical plant and equipment.
The role requires strong fault‑finding skills, a proactive approach to maintenance, and the ability to work safely and effectively within a busy industrial environment. Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and complete all associated documentation accurately. Conduct fault finding, planned maintenance, and reactive repairs on electrical plant and equipment.
Support team members as required to ensure smooth and safe site operations. Complete electrical installations, modifications, and system upgrades. Supervise visiting subcontractors, ensuring safe working practices and high‑quality workmanship.
Maintain a flexible approach to support operational needs. Ensure all work complies with site safety standards and statutory requirements. Skills & Experience Recognised electrical qualification or time‑served experience. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations - advantageous but not essential.
Experience working with: Power supplies Lighting systems Meters Circuit boards Pumps Strong ability to diagnose electrical faults and carry out effective repairs. Experience with HV switching - advantageous. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
