Electrical Engineer (Chicago)

Epitec is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our automotive client's team in Chicago, IL. As an Electrical Engineer, the candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring vehicle electrical system quality by leading electrical system issue resolution at the plant level. This is an ongoing W2 contract with potential for conversion This is an onsite position in Chicago, IL Top Responsibilities: Act as first line of defense for vehicle electrical quality for vehicles at the Chicago Assembly Plant Own end‑to‑end vehicle electrical systems, including module software and low‑voltage EDS Lead root cause analysis and resolution of design, supplier, and manufacturing issues Triage warranty claims and DTCs, prioritize containment, and protect customer experience Drive low‑voltage wiring and EDS issue resolution from concept through production launch Manage engineering changes, plant trials, and change sign‑off readiness Analyze end‑of‑line electrical issues using quality and diagnostic data Participate in vehicle builds, pre‑production reviews, and campaign impact assessments Develop roadmaps and business cases to eliminate high‑impact quality issues Collaborate with cross‑functional teams via VRTs and track issues in AIMS/JIRA Top Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s preferred) Systems engineering experience with electrical or vehicle systems exposure Strong root cause analysis and quality problem‑solving skills Experience with warranty, field issues, or quality improvement efforts Knowledge of low‑voltage wiring or vehicle electrical systems (preferred) Proven ability to lead cross‑functional issue resolution Comfortable working fully onsite in a fast‑paced plant environment Adaptable and eager to learn across multiple engineering functions
