Duty Manager | Black Buffalo
Black Buffalo is looking for a hands‑on, people‑focused Duty Manager to support our Venue Manager in running a busy, much‑loved venue and leading a great team every day.
This is a role for someone who thrives on the floor — leading by example, keeping operations running smoothly across bar, gaming, bistro and accommodation, and creating a positive, motivated team environment. You'll be a first point of contact for guests, a steady hand during service, and a mentor to the team around you.

What you will do
- Support the Venue Manager to run smooth day to day operations across the venue, including bar, gaming, bistro, and accommodation
- Lead the team on shift to deliver exceptional service and a welcoming guest experience
- Coordinate front of house and back of house activity to maintain service standards and efficient workflows
- Coach, support, and provide clear feedback to team members to build capability and positive performance
- Manage opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, till reconciliation, and accurate daily reporting
- Act as the first point of contact for guest enquiries and concerns, resolving issues promptly and professionally
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, liquor licensing, RSA, and RCG requirements, and proactively address operational issues
What you will bring
- A strong customer first mindset and genuine passion for hospitality
- Confident leadership on shift, with the ability to coach, mentor, and guide team members
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to adjust your style for different people and situations
- The ability to stay calm under pressure, handle conflict constructively, and approach problems with a solutions focus
- Proven experience in front of house operations, customer service, and team supervision in a hospitality setting
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Responsible Certificate of Gambling (RCG)
- Practical capability in stock control, cash handling, and daily venue operations
- Confidence using relevant hospitality systems, including point of sale software, with an empathetic approach to sensitive conversation
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays
