Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role
Gi Group Ireland is currently recruiting for a structured and detail oriented Drawing Office Coordinator / Manager to join a leading player in the precast concrete and engineering sector. In this role, you will serve as the central hub for technical documentation, bridging the gap between design concepts and factory floor production. Your primary focus will be managing drawing schedules, enforcing rigorous revision control, and ensuring that production teams, quality departments, and site crews always work from the most up to date, approved engineering data.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule & Reporting: Establish comprehensive drawing release schedules and issue dates across all active accounts. Compile and deliver weekly performance reports detailing the progress of the drawing office.
- Document Control & Revision Management: Oversee the electronic filing systems and drawing databases. Maintain flawless drawing registers and revision history logs to track updates seamlessly.
- Approval Coordination: Actively monitor drawing statuses (e.g., Issued for Approval, Approved, Issued for Construction). Proactively follow up with external architects, structural engineers, and consultants to secure approvals and comments, mitigating any potential project delays.
- Cross-Departmental Liaison: Ensure clear communication lines between design engineers, project managers, architects, and production supervisors. Transfer feedback and modifications from the design teams back into revised technical drawings.
- Production Support: Coordinate the distribution of precast concrete and reinforcement drawings among the drawing office, engineering, and manufacturing teams. Verify that reinforcement schedules match factory requirements, and ensure zero manufacturing begins without fully approved drawings.
- Technical Assistance: Aid the drawing office in assembling comprehensive drawing packs for both manufacturing and final site installation. Provide support across shop drawings, reinforcement layouts, and fabrication details while collaborating closely with the mould preparation team and reinforcement yard.
- Technical Literacy: A foundational understanding of general arrangement (GA) drawings, technical schematics, reinforcement drawings, and broader construction documentation.
- Software Familiarity: Exposure to or experience with technical drawing software such as Allplan, AutoCAD, or equivalent platforms is highly advantageous.
- Process Enforcement: A strong grasp of revision control protocols and formal drawing approval workflows.
- Organization: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to balance documentation requirements across multiple simultaneous projects under tight timeframes.
- Communication: Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills to effectively manage relationships with both internal departments and external consultants.
- IT Literacy: Proficiency in the standard Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

- Previous experience handling technical drawings, GA documentation, or project engineering files within a professional environment.
- A background within precast concrete manufacturing, reinforcement detailing, or the wider construction and engineering sectors will be distinct advantages.
