Job Summary The Documentation Engineer focuses primarily on system design and technical drawings under the direction of a Project Engineer or higher, while supporting project teams with system setup, testing, and field requirements. This role may work independently or collaboratively depending on project demands, while also utilizing tools such as BeckFlow to enhance documentation workflows. Job Responsibilities Develop complete system designs for broadcast, production, and media systems, develop AutoCAD-based drawings, signal flow diagrams, equipment layouts, and infrastructure plans.
Translate client requirements into scalable engineering solutions, collaborating with stakeholders and participating in client meetings to gather needs and provide technical guidance. Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation using CAD tools, ensuring accuracy, quality standards, and consistency throughout the project lifecycle. Research, specify, and recommend equipment and technologies while developing and managing comprehensive equipment lists to support design and procurement efforts.
Manage and optimize documentation workflows in BeckFlow, including creating SOPs, maintaining version control, and supporting users with system processes and standards. Support system deployment through network configuration, installation assistance, commissioning, testing, and real-time troubleshooting both remotely and onsite. Maintain design integrity through revisions and field verification, delivering complete and accurate as-built documentation aligned with project and client standards.
This role includes additional duties as assigned to meet business needs. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Broadcast Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field — or equivalent hands-on experience. Ability to learn, adopt, and utilize BeckFlow for documentation and workflow management Ability to read and produce technical system drawings and signal flows.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Comfort working with digital documentation systems or platforms.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, data organization, and spreadsheet-based reporting. Willingness and ability to travel as project needs require.
