We’re looking for a high-energy, creative, and results-driven Director of Sales to lead revenue strategy at Moxy Washington, DC —a hotel that breaks the mold and thrives on personality, design, and social connection. Position Overview As Director of Sales, you’ll own the commercial strategy for the hotel—driving top-line revenue through smart segmentation, creative partnerships, and a strong presence in the local market. You’ll blend traditional sales discipline with a lifestyle mindset, positioning Moxy as a go-to destination for travelers, groups, and locals alike. What You’ll Do Drive Revenue with Creativity Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to maximize occupancy, ADR, and total revenue Identify and capture new business across corporate, group, social, and entertainment segments Leverage the hotel’s unique design and social spaces to attract non-traditional demand Own the Market Build strong relationships with local companies, agencies, universities, and event planners Actively prospect, conduct site tours, and represent the hotel at industry and community events Position the hotel as a hub for meetings, gatherings, and social experiences Lifestyle Selling & Partnerships Create and activate partnerships with local brands, influencers, and organizations Collaborate with Marketing to drive awareness through events, promotions, and digital channels Think beyond guestrooms—sell experiences, activations, and vibe Execute & Lead Manage all sales activities, reporting, and forecasting Partner with Revenue Management to optimize pricing and channel strategy Work closely with the General Manager and operations team to ensure seamless execution What We’re Looking For 3–5+ years of hotel sales experience; lifestyle or boutique hotel experience strongly preferred A creative, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for non-traditional sellingProven ability to drive revenue and build strong client relationships Strong understanding of Marriott systems and distribution channels is a plus Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills Deep knowledge of the Washington, DC market preferred Why Moxy Be part of a globally recognized lifestyle brand under Marriott A chance to lead sales for a hotel that stands out in a crowded market Freedom to be creative and make a real impact on the hotel’s identity and performance Competitive compensation with bonus potential Benefits, travel perks, and growth opportunities In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete required employment eligibility verification form (Form I-9) upon hire.
