Director of Development (Fundraising for an amazing nonprofit) Perm/Direct Hire Natick, MA - ideally all on-site, potential for 1 day per week remote $95-105k salary depending on experience Overview Our client is seeking a Director of Development to lead and execute a comprehensive, multi-year fundraising strategy that supports long-term organizational growth and financial sustainability. This leadership role oversees all development initiatives, including donor relations, community engagement, communications, and capital campaigns. The ideal candidate brings a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with a strong ability to build relationships and drive meaningful financial support.

Key Responsibilities Fundraising Strategy & Execution Develop and lead diversified revenue strategies, including annual giving, major gifts, grants, planned giving, and special events Analyze fundraising performance and adjust strategies to maximize results Support visibility and engagement through community outreach and digital communications Ensure accurate tracking of donor activity within CRM systems Maintain strong donor stewardship practices and timely acknowledgment processes Major Gifts & Donor Relations Manage a portfolio of high-value donors and prospects Identify and cultivate new funding opportunities through research and outreach Partner with executive leadership on donor engagement and solicitation strategies Lead donor meetings, events, and relationship-building efforts Prepare proposals, agreements, and impact reports Secure and close significant gifts while maintaining long-term donor relationships Team Leadership Lead and mentor a team of development professionals Establish and track performance metrics aligned with fundraising goals Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment Community Engagement Represent the organization at community and industry events Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners Collaborate with leadership and board members to align development efforts with overall strategy Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred 5+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising/development Proven ability to lead fundraising initiatives and meet revenue goals Strong leadership experience managing and developing teams Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills Experience across multiple fundraising channels, including major gifts, grants, and events Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
