The Director, Capital Planning & Analysis serves as the strategic finance leader for a large-scale capital investment portfolio. You will guide the financial planning, forecasting, analysis, and performance management that support major infrastructure and transformation initiatives.
In this role, you will:
Provide strategic financial leadership and decision support for major capital investments. Lead enterprise-wide capital forecasting, planning, and performance management processes. Oversee the full capital lifecycle, including business case development, funding allocation, portfolio monitoring, and post-investment evaluation. Build and refine advanced financial models, scenario analyses, and investment evaluations. Strengthen capital governance frameworks, planning standards, and decision-making processes. Deliver executive-level reporting on capital program performance, risks, and opportunities. Drive modernization of capital planning systems, tools, and forecasting methodologies. Partner closely with leaders across Finance, Infrastructure, Operations, Technology, and Commercial teams. Lead and develop a high-performing team focused on capital planning, financial analysis, business case development, and program reporting. Foster a culture of analytical rigor, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Requirements10+ years of progressive experience in financial planning, capital finance, investment analysis, or related fields within large, complex organizations. Experience supporting major infrastructure programs or capital-intensive portfolios 7+ years of people leadership experience, including building and coaching high-performing teams. Deep expertise in capital planning, forecasting, business case development, investment analysis, financial modelling, and performance management. Proven ability to influence senior leaders through data-driven insights and strategic recommendations. Strong knowledge of capital governance, portfolio management, investment evaluation methodologies, and financial controls. Experience implementing or enhancing financial planning systems, forecasting tools, or enterprise reporting capabilities. Exceptional analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills. University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline; MBA or graduate degree is an asset. CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional designation. Demonstrated success in collaborative, customer-focused environments.
