Digital QA Engineer (SDET) Job#: 3027016 Location: Open to candidates local to Merrifield, VA; Pensacola, FL; San Diego, CA (Hybrid) Assignment Type: Contract Only Duration: Approx. 12–18 months (3,184 total hours) Pay Range: $50.00 – $75.00 /hr bill rate. Specific compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors. Position Description We are seeking a highly skilled Digital QA Engineer (SDET) to support a large‑scale digital transformation initiative focused on modern web, mobile, and cloud‑based applications.

In this role, you will build and enhance automation across UI, API, and database layers, partner closely with developers in an Agile team, and play a key role in ensuring high‑quality digital experiences. You’ll design automation frameworks, execute functional and performance test suites, analyze application issues, and support complex multi‑device/multi‑platform digital ecosystems. This role is ideal for an automation engineer who thrives in hands‑on coding, deep technical problem solving, and driving automated quality at scale.

Qualifications 5+ years overall SDET and/or software development experience Strong hands‑on Java coding & automation framework development 4+ years building, executing, and maintaining test automation 2+ years API automation testing Expertise with UI + API + DB automation Experience with Agile/Scrum, TDD, BDD Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins, JUnit, Selenium, Cucumber) Mobile test automation experience (Android/iOS) strongly preferred Strong SQL querying & debugging skills Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms Experience using cloud‑hosted testing tools (Perfecto preferred) Strong foundation in software engineering (data structures, design patterns) Experience with Jira or ServiceNow ticketing systems EEO Statement Apex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
