DevOps Engineer

Are you a Senior DevOps Engineer with experience working with large-scale, complex distributed systems and a passion for building reliable, scalable, and highly automated platforms?

We’re looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join a highly technical engineering environment and help shape the evolution of an internal PaaS and engineering platform.

Location: Lagoas Park, Oeiras

Working Model: Hybrid

You’ll bring your experience and perspective to the team, helping define the technologies, processes, and tools used to provision, deploy, scale, monitor, and operate products across multiple environments.

Working closely with product, engineering, and architecture teams, you’ll have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, improve the developer experience, automate operations, and contribute to the reliability and scalability of business-critical platforms.

🚀 What You’ll Be Doing:

• Design, implement, deploy, and maintain the core infrastructure and services behind the internal engineering platform.
• Help define the architecture, technologies, processes, and tools supporting the company's PaaS environment.
• Build and improve automated processes for infrastructure provisioning, deployment, scaling, monitoring, and operations.
• Work within a multidisciplinary engineering team to create tools and capabilities that improve the overall developer experience.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across development, QA, and production environments.
• Proactively identify performance, availability, security, scalability, and operational bottlenecks and propose improvements.
• Support engineering teams during onboarding and promote DevOps, automation, reliability, and infrastructure best practices.
• Collaborate with application and solution architects on technical decisions involving areas such as API management, service mesh, cloud infrastructure, and platform architecture.
• Support the investigation of production incidents, identify root causes, and define corrective and preventive actions.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation, including guides, handbooks, and tutorials.
• Contribute to highly available production environments and participate in 24/7 third-line on-call support.

🛠️ What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, SRE, or similar roles.
• Strong experience working with large-scale, complex and distributed systems, ideally within event-driven architectures.
• Solid knowledge of Linux systems administration and OS hardening.
• Experience with database administration activities involving technologies such as PostgreSQL and/or Oracle.
• Strong experience with public cloud environments, particularly AWS and/or Azure.
• Experience with virtualization and container orchestration technologies such as VMware, KVM, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation/configuration management tools, particularly Terraform and Ansible.
• Excellent understanding of CI/CD principles and tooling, such as GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, and Nexus.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, logging, metrics, and tracing, using technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, Vector, and OpenTelemetry/OpenTracing.
• Scripting or programming experience with Python, Go and/or Bash.
• Good understanding of IP networking and infrastructure concepts.
• Previous experience designing and implementing cloud solutions.
• Ability to collaborate with architects and engineering teams to solve complex infrastructure and software design challenges.
• Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
