Design Manager

As Design Manager, you'll sit at the heart of their ambition bridging design, construction, and commercial teams to deliver high-quality schemes on the Strategic Road Network. What you'll be doing Leading design activities from early concept through to handover, covering Principal Designer duties Coordinating internal teams, external consultants, and specialist subcontractors Managing design risk, budgets, schedules, and change control Ensuring compliance with CDM, DMRB, MCHW, and client standards Providing on-site technical support and resolving design queries during construction Helping grow SPaTS3 Framework work and identify new revenue opportunities What we're looking for Proven highways design experience, ideally on maintenance and renewals schemes Strong working knowledge of CDM regulations and the Principal Designer role Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field Chartership with ICE or CIHT is a bonus — but not essential A collaborative mindset and the communication skills to match
