Design Manager

Reporting to the Engineering Director. What You’ll Do Lead, coordinate and control design activities and technical services within the newly formed Engineering Solutions department. Provide a technical link between design, delivery, commercial, and procurement teams, ensuring design outputs meet programme, quality, safety, and commercial requirements.

Identify opportunities to grow our design capabilities, helping to access new revenue streams. It would be great if you have all of the below, but if you feel you’d be a good fit and haven’t quite ticked every box, get in touch before you decide to apply or not: Qualifications Proven highways design experience – ideally on maintenance or renewals schemes. Strong understanding of technical standards and construction methodologies.

Experience with (or readiness to grow into) line management. Confidence in coordinating technical documentation and design reviews. A collaborative approach and excellent communication skills.

Familiarity with digital design tools (a bonus). Degree or equivalent experience in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar. Chartership (ICE/CIHT) welcomed, not essential.
