Job Title: Design Engineer โ Automotive Plastic Components
Location: Noida, India
Employment Type: Full-Time
We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Design Engineer with hands-on expertise in CATIA V5 and automotive plastic component design. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing plastic components and assemblies for automotive applications, along with a strong understanding of styling feasibility, tooling, DFM/DFA, GD&T, and engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and development of automotive plastic components and assemblies using CATIA V5.
- Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, master sections, and detailed engineering drawings.
- Perform A-Class surface analysis and evaluate styling feasibility for production.
- Conduct tooling feasibility studies, including:
- Draft analysis
- Core and cavity feasibility
- Slider feasibility
- Lifter feasibility
- Ejection feasibility
- Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles for injection-moulded plastic components.
- Develop designs considering manufacturability, assembly requirements, quality, cost, and functional performance.
- Apply GD&T principles and ensure compliance with engineering and customer requirements.
- Support DFMEA, FEA/Mold Flow analysis, testing, and validation activities.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including styling, tooling, manufacturing, quality, testing, and suppliers.
- Incorporate design changes based on engineering feedback, validation results, and manufacturing requirements.
- Ensure designs meet project timelines, technical specifications, and applicable automotive standards.
Required Technical Skills
- CATIA V5 โ strong proficiency in part design, assembly design, surfacing, and drafting.
- Strong experience in automotive plastic component and assembly design.
- Knowledge of A-Class surface analysis and styling feasibility.
- Strong understanding of injection moulding and tooling feasibility.
- Knowledge of draft, core-cavity, slider, lifter, and ejection concepts.
- Good understanding of DFM/DFA for injection-moulded plastic components.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, master sections, and engineering drawings.
- Working knowledge of DFMEA.
- Exposure to FEA/Mold Flow analysis, testing, and product validation.
- Teamcenter/PLM experience is preferred.
Experience & Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering: 4โ5 years of relevant automotive experience
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: Minimum 6 years of relevant automotive experience
- Relevant experience in automotive plastic product/component design is required.
