Job Description Deputy Nurse Manager \nLeicester\nSalary up to £50,000 \n\nAbout the Role: \nAs Deputy Nurse Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in leading the clinical team and ensuring the highest standards of person-centred care for elderly residents, including those living with dementia. You will play a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance, embedding best practice, and fostering a positive, professional culture. Your leadership will directly influence staff performance, resident outcomes, and the home’s reputation with families and external stakeholders.\n\nKey Responsibilities: \n* Oversee day-to-day clinical operations, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred care for elderly and dementia residents. \n* Provide visible clinical leadership on the floor, supporting, guiding, and supervising nursing and care staff. \n* Monitor and maintain compliance with CQC standards, internal policies, and all relevant clinical governance frameworks. \n* Support with the recruitment, induction, and ongoing training of new starters, promoting a high-performing, well-supported team. \n* Conduct clinical audits, care plan reviews, and quality improvement initiatives to maintain and enhance care standards. \n* Build and maintain excellent working relationships with residents, families, external professionals, and regulatory bodies. \n* Participate in rota management, including allocation of staff and ensuring appropriate skill mix across shifts. \n* Act as a clinical point of escalation, managing incidents, safeguarding concerns, and complex care needs promptly and professionally.\n\nKey Requirements: \n* Proven experience in a senior nursing role within elderly and/or dementia care, ideally at Deputy or Senior Nurse level. \n* Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and support clinical and care staff. \n* In-depth understanding of regulatory compliance, CQC standards, and clinical governance in a care home or similar setting. \n* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with families and external professionals. \n* Demonstrable ability to manage workload, prioritise effectively, and make sound clinical decisions under pressure. \n* Commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care and promoting dignity, respect, and independence for residents. \n\nQualifications: \n* Registered Nurse (Adult) with a current, valid NMC PIN. \n* Evidence of ongoing CPD in areas such as dementia care, leadership, or clinical governance. \n* Management or leadership qualification (or working towards) is desirable. \n* Additional training in safeguarding, medication management, and end-of-life care is advantageous. \n\nIf you are a dedicated nurse leader with a passion for elderly and dementia care and the ambition to progress your career, call Shona @ Purosearch on (phone number removed) or send your email to (url removed)
