We are seeking a Data Modeler.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, structuring, and modelling data within Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring high-quality datasets are available to support analytics, AI, and business decision-making.

This role is focused on data discovery, data architecture, and data modelling rather than Spark development, dashboard engineering, or visualization platforms.

Responsibilities

Identify, analyse, and document data sources required to support business and application requirements.

Work closely with application, engineering, and business teams to understand data dependencies and lineage.

Design and maintain logical and physical data models within GCP BigQuery.

Develop scalable data structures and data integration approaches that support future AI and analytics capabilities.

Ensure data quality, consistency, governance, and integrity across multiple data sources.

Support data mapping, transformation, and optimisation activities.

Collaborate with solution architects and data engineering teams to define best practices for cloud-native data solutions.

Create documentation covering data models, metadata, lineage, and business definitions.

Support the ongoing enhancement of the operational resilience data estate.

Required Qualifications

Strong experience working within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Proven experience with BigQuery data architecture and modelling.

Extensive experience in data modelling, including conceptual, logical, and physical models.

Strong understanding of data governance, metadata, and data quality principles.

experience identifying and integrating data from multiple enterprise systems.

Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

experience supporting AI, ML, or advanced analytics initiatives.

Knowledge of operational resilience, risk, regulatory, or financial services environments.

Understanding of cloud data architecture best practices.

experience working within Agile delivery teams.
