Job DescriptionAbout the Role: Flogas Ireland is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to establish and run data governance practices across the organisation. This is a critical role reporting into the Head of Data & Analytics, responsible for embedding data ownership, stewardship, and quality standards across Flogas's data domains using Microsoft Purview hands-on Purview experience is essential. Key Responsibilities: Own and administer Microsoft Purview as Flogas's data governance platform, including the data catalogue, business glossary, and classification and sensitivity labelling across all data domains.
Support and coordinate the Data Governance Forum, working with Data Owners and Data Stewards across all data domains. Build and maintain the enterprise data glossary and data dictionary, ensuring consistent, business-approved definitions are captured and kept current in Purview. Monitor data quality across priority domains, working with Data Stewards to identify, prioritise, and track remediation of data issues.
Implement and maintain data governance policies and standards, tracking compliance activity and reporting governance KPIs to the Data Governance Forum and Group Leadership Team. Define and administer data access, classification, and escalation processes in partnership with IT, supporting compliance with regulatory and data protection requirements. Design and establish governance processes and documentation as a standalone contributor, building the foundations for a future data governance function as the team grows.
Essential Criteria: Proven experience in a data governance, data quality, or data management analyst role Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Purview, including catalogue, glossary, and classification features Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, including data ownership, stewardship, and escalation models Experience building and maintaining data glossaries, dictionaries, or metadata repositories Comfortable working independently to establish governance processes from the ground up Strong stakeholder management skills, able to engage Data Owners and Stewards across varied business domains Desirable Criteria: Experience in an energy, utilities, or regulated industry Familiarity with data protection and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g. GDPR) Exposure to Microsoft Fabric or other modern cloud data platforms Experience with data quality tooling and automated monitoring Data governance certification (e.g. DAMA CDMP) About Flogas: Part of the DCC Group, Flogas Ireland was established in 1978 supplying Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) throughout the island and to this day remains one of the leading suppliers in Ireland, servicing a diverse range of market sectors, including commercial, agricultural, and domestic.
