Data Engineer

The Opportunity We're building a data platform from the ground up at a rapidly-growing real estate asset management company — and we want someone who wants to own that build. Gestion Zagora manages over 6,000 residential units across Canada and the United States. Our Data Strategy & Innovation team is the engine behind operational transformation: we automate workflows, modernize infrastructure, and build the intelligence tools our leadership relies on every day.

This is an early-career role with real scope. You'll report directly to the Head of Data Strategy & Innovation, get hands-on mentorship during onboarding, and be trusted with meaningful work from day one. What You'll Actually Do Build and maintain ETL pipelines in Python and BigQuery/SQL Connect APIs and operational systems to centralize data flows Automate recurring reporting workflows that currently run manually Analytics & BI Support KPI tracking across Leasing, Vacancy, Collections, and more Perform ad‑hoc analysis to answer real business questions from senior leadership Help translate operational questions into scalable data models Systems & Infrastructure Assist with our ongoing ERP migration and system‑to‑system integrations Monitor data quality and pipeline health Support internal automation tools across Google Workspace What We're Looking For Technical Skills Strong Python (OOP, Pandas) — modern tooling like ruff and uv is a plus Solid SQL for analytics and data transformation Familiarity with GitHub and GitHub Actions Understanding of REST APIs Basic exposure to cloud platforms (GCP preferred) Bonus: Power BI, Google Sheets automation, ERP systems, or Google Cloud certifications The Right Mindset You're naturally curious and like digging into problems You communicate clearly — with both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders You're structured, independent, and don't need to be micromanaged You want to grow into a Senior or Analytics Engineer role About Our Team The Data Strategy & Innovation department partners with Asset Management, Operations, Finance, Accounting, and Leasing to drive real business value through data modernization and process automation.
