Position Overview IS2 Information Technologist – Regular/full-time – Health, Seniors and Long Term Care – Information Management and Analytics, Health Policy and Planning – Winnipeg, MB. Salary: $71,813.00 – $95,246.00 per year. Closing Date: May 25, 2026.

Responsibilities Provide analytical and technical support for the acquisition, extraction, and secure use of data from the Provincial Data Repository (PDR) in support of departmental business functions.

Produce large data extracts from the PDR, work with source data providers to obtain identified datasets, and stage data to support initial discovery, interim analysis, or reporting. Support PDR access and usage audits, provide privacy‑preserving data extracts, and collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and external partners. Qualifications Essential Post‑secondary degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered. Demonstrated experience in data analysis, including building and linking large data extracts from both structured and unstructured data. Experience in database methodologies, design, and modeling, as well as systems analysis and database technologies.

Strong experience applying statistical and data analysis techniques, including programming and scripting languages (e.g., SAS, Python, R). Experience building prototypes from data models to support data analysis and visualization. Strong verbal communication skills.

Strong written communication skills. Strong organizational and time‑management skills, including the ability to respond to changing priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to develop scripts and automate routine processes to streamline data workflows and improve efficiency.

Strong ability to query relational and non‑relational databases (e.g., SQL, Oracle) for data retrieval and analysis. Desired Experience using SAS. Experience working with health‑related data within a health system, program, or organizational setting.

Experience working with all relevant areas of the Big Data ecosystem. Conditions of Employment Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Must be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
