Mitre 10 Myrtleford is looking for a Customer Service & Sales Support Team Member to join our branch team.
This is the role that keeps the branch running. You'll be processing orders, entering invoices and stock information accurately, confirming details with customers by email and phone, and helping tradies and DIY customers at the counter. There's no cold calling and no sales targets — the customers come to us, and your job is to look after them properly and keep the paperwork spot on.
You'll report to the Branch Manager and work alongside a small, experienced team who'll back you while you learn the products.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
- Entering and processing customer orders, invoices and stock information accurately
- Confirming order details, delivery dates and changes with customers by email and phone
- Serving trade and retail customers at the counter with product enquiries and advice
- Checking invoices for accuracy and sorting out any discrepancies
- Keeping an eye on stock levels so we've got what our customers need on hand
- Preparing straightforward quotes and orders, with support from the team
- Supporting our Account Managers and the wider branch team with admin and customer follow-up
- Reporting hazards, near misses and incidents promptly through Donesafe
- Living our 'Our Circle of Care' principles — See, Say, Listen, Stop — and looking out for the safety of yourself, your team, our customers and the community
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Understanding of the building process and/or knowledge of building materials and timber (preferred)
- Previous experience in an administration, sales or customer service role (preferred)
- Strong background in delivering exceptional customer service to both trade and retail customers
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Outstanding problem-solving ability and the initiative to find solutions
- Proficiency with IT systems, or a quick learner in adapting to new technology
- Enthusiastic and ambitious, with a strong desire to learn and build a long-term career with us
- A team player who is energetic, self-driven and committed to working safely every day
