Position Overview The Cruise Operations Specialist will oversee Ship & Play's cruise logistics program, ensuring smooth coordination between cruise lines, port agents, couriers, and internal teams. This position is responsible for both managing daily cruise operations and improving long-term logistics processes to support new and existing partnerships.
The ideal candidate will have direct experience in cruise operations and will thrive in a detail-driven environment. Roles & Responsibilities Day-to-Day Responsibilities Serve as the primary contact for cruise lines, port agents, and ground handlers during active sailings and port operations. Monitor all active shipments to ensure proper handover, timely delivery, and accurate tracking.
Communicate with port agents and internal teams to proactively identify and prevent operational issues. Coordinate responses to itinerary changes, early arrivals, or late departures by rerouting shipments as needed. Maintain detailed records of all port operations, issues, and resolutions using internal systems.
Strategic Operations Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability of cruise operations. Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for embarkation, disembarkation, and port handling. Lead onboarding efforts for new cruise partners and port agents, ensuring readiness for service launch.
Build and strengthen relationships with cruise lines, port agents, and logistics providers to improve service delivery. Analyze performance metrics to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for improvement. Collaborate with company leadership to expand Ship & Play's cruise logistics network into new ports or regions.
The individual in this role will be expected to travel internationally on a periodic basis.
