Contract Associate Attorney - Remote Criminal & Traffic Defense

We are a small, two-attorney firm with a steady flow of criminal and traffic law cases throughout Arkansas. We’re currently seeking a motivated, Arkansas-licensed associate attorney to join our team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for someone looking to build experience, enjoy flexible remote work, and earn based on performance.

About the Role:

* Practice Area: Criminal defense and traffic law * Location: Fully remote, with optional access to our office in Salem, AR * Compensation: 33% of collected fees per case, paid upon case closure * Case Volume: Consistent flow of cases, ranging from simple traffic tickets to DWIs and more serious offenses

Typical Case Earnings:

* Contract attorney gets 1/3 of the fee, traffic tickets are typically billed on a flat fee between $1000–$2500 for arraignment and plea, depending on the seriousness of the offense. * Trials and more complex cases (e.g., DWIs) result in higher compensation * Many appearances, especially arraignments, can be waived or handled remotely

* Dedicated case manager to assist with scheduling and client communication * Firm covers malpractice insurance, court costs, and administrative fees * Mileage reimbursement at $0.25 per mile (for trips over 25 miles from your home to court) * Additional case types may be available depending on your interest and experience

Expectations:

* Maintain clear, professional communication with clients and staff * Perform conflict checks and adhere strictly to ethical responsibilities under the Arkansas Rules of Professional Conduct * You will receive client messages via email and phone from our staff when they call the firm requesting to speak with you
