Consultant Psychiatrist/Medical Director – Female Acute Ward Priory Hospital Bristol is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist/Medical Director to join our team in a dual role on our Female Acute Ward. This is a full‑time position (5 days per week), with flexibility to work one day remotely (Tuesday or Wednesday). A competitive stipend is offered in recognition of the Medical Director responsibilities. Department: Medical and Psychiatry Location: Priory Hospital Bristol Compensation: £176,000 / year What you'll be doing Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews and the development of a therapeutic milieu. Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983). Supervising the process of referral and admission including contributing to preadmission assessments of young people with other team members. Offering a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to the assessment, formulation and treatment of adults. Contributing to management meetings and clinical governance meetings for the services provided at the hospital, and contributing to the development of service strategy. What you'll bring to the role Essential MRCPsych (or equivalent) CCT (or equivalent) and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status A minimum of 3 years’ experience at Consultant level Demonstrable experience leading multidisciplinary teams Desirable Experience on a Female Acute Ward What we will give you in return We want you to succeed at Priory and thrive in your role.
