Scroll down the page to see all associated job requirements, and any responsibilities successful candidates can expect. - 20 hrs Mater Misericordiae University Hospital - 17 hrs This position is a joint appointment on the Public Only Consultant Contract 2023 (POCC23) with a weekly commitment of 20 hours per week in National Orthopaedic Hospital Cappagh and 17 hours per week in Mater Misericordiae University Hospital.
The following professional qualifications and experience shall apply to this appointment and each candidate must: Be registered on the Specialist division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the speciality of Anaesthesiology.
Have possession of the Fellowship of the College of Anaesthetists, RCSI or a qualification in anaesthesia equivalent thereto.
Have seven years satisfactory postgraduate training and experience in the medical profession including five years in anaesthesiology Demonstrate a proven interest in Continuing Professional Development.
Have effective team skills and leadership capabilities.
Be competent and able to undertake the full remit of anaesthesia clinical work at both sites including oncall in MMUH for the purpose of anaesthesia services for all surgical sub-specialities, quaternary referral services, the National Heart and Lung transplant and Spinal Injuries Unit.
Be computer literate.
Illustrate a high level of verbal and non-verbal skills in order to effectively communicate with and relate to patients and / or parents, relatives, colleagues, hospital staff and management Be of good character.
Desirable An interest in and ability to perform and teach a variety of regional anaesthesia techniques would be desirable but is not essential.
