Job Description Job Description Position Overview The Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of ground-up multifamily construction projects, with a focus on urban infill developments throughout San Diego. This role oversees projects from preconstruction through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Projects typically consist of 50โ150 unit multifamily developments, including podium and infill construction in tight, high-density environments.
The ideal candidate has experience managing full-cycle multifamily projects and is comfortable overseeing multiple jobs while working closely with field teams and ownership. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout. Oversee project scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor buyouts, and overall execution.
Coordinate subcontractors and manage scopes, contracts, and performance. Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and reporting. Partner closely with Superintendents to ensure strong field execution and productivity.
Maintain and update project schedules, adapting to challenges associated with urban infill sites. Track project costs, billing, and overall financial performance. Communicate regularly with ownership, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
Support preconstruction and estimating efforts when needed. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and schedule expectations. Qualifications 6+ years of experience as a Project Manager with a general contractor.
Strong experience managing ground-up multifamily construction projects. Experience with infill and podium construction is highly preferred. Proven ability to manage projects from start to finish (full lifecycle).
Experience managing projects in the 50โ150 unit range. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of construction processes including budgeting, scheduling, and subcontractor management.
