Community Mental Health Nurse/Practitioner Permanent | 37.5 hours per week - mixture of hours considered Closing date is 10 May 2026 We are excited to expand our CAMHS Duty team and are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced mental health nurse/practitioner to join us. We are looking for someone who has: Experience working within a CAMHS/mental health setting Therapeutic skills to build positive relationships Understanding of the complex needs and risks faced by young people We offer a supportive induction and a welcoming team environment.
Main duties of the job Manage your own caseload, conducting initial and comprehensive assessments, especially for high‑risk or rapidly deteriorating young people. Participate in daily referrals meetings, triaging CAMHS referrals as part of a multidisciplinary team. Provide consultation calls to support young people awaiting initial assessments and to assist professionals needing referrals.
Offer rapid response appointments for high‑risk young people, providing follow‑up support. Help develop care plans in collaboration with young people, including views of families/carers where appropriate. Supervise and support junior colleagues.
Please note that Sheffield Children's uplift pay to meet the Real Living Wage, which is £12.60 per hour. £39,959 to £48,117 a year per annum, pro rata for part time. Person Specification Personal Attributes Self‑management and organisation Excellent communication/interpersonal skills, verbal and written Hold a current UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle Commitment to CAMHS self‑service development, flexible practice, flexible working patterns and management of change Leadership Qualifications and Training RMN / RN (Mental Health), Occupational Therapist, Social Worker Post‑registration clinical training relevant to CAMHS / mental health Teaching and assessing ENB 998 / mentorship or equivalent Degree in a relevant subject Additional vocational training courses Experience Significant post‑registration experience within a CAMHS / mental health setting Auditing clinical standards Utilisation of research in practice Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of a range of therapeutic interventions Legal frameworks relevant to CAMHS Health and safety Current CAMHS practice/issues Current nursing / health issuesClinical governance Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
