Job Description

Knight Insurance Services is seeking an experienced Department Manager to lead the Commercial Lines Account Management team. This role oversees daily operations, supports team performance, maintains service standards, and helps ensure client accounts are handled accurately and professionally. Direct client involvement will generally be limited to escalated or complex matters requiring management-level judgment.

Full-time, on-site. Remote and hybrid are not available

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, supervise, coach, and support the Commercial Lines Account Management team.
• Set expectations for performance, accountability, communication, and client service.
• Provide feedback, conduct evaluations, and address performance concerns as needed.

Department Operations & Workflow

• Assign and balance workloads to maintain timely service and department productivity.
• Monitor workflow, accuracy, responsiveness, and service quality.
• Improve procedures and keep leadership informed of staffing, workflow, and client concerns.

Client Service & Account Oversight

• Oversee key account-servicing activities, including renewals, endorsements, certificates, audits, policy reviews, cancellations, and claims support.
• Assist with complex or escalated client, coverage, carrier, and service matters.

Compliance, Documentation & Agency Coordination

• Ensure account records and activities are properly documented in AMS360.
• Maintain compliance with agency policies, carrier requirements, regulations, and industry practices.
• Coordinate with leadership, producers, carriers, underwriters, and other departments to support effective service delivery.

Requirements

• Minimum of four years of commercial lines insurance experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, policies, terminology, and servicing procedures.
• Active California Property and Casualty insurance license.
• Proficiency with AMS360 and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, or team-management ability.
• Strong communication, organization, judgment, and attention to detail.
