Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Journeyman-level Electrician with Low Voltage experience in commercial construction to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that require a high level of technical skill, precision, and safety awareness. As a key member of our electrical team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems on commercial construction sites, including MOGS and Observatories, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to code.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician in commercial construction environments.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical practices, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), high voltage systems, and power distribution.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience installing, terminating, and troubleshooting low-voltage systems, including data/communications cabling, access control, security, and related systems.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical and low-voltage schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings for commercial and industrial projects.
  • Thorough understanding of NEC standards and applicable codes governing both electrical and low-voltage installations.
  • Skilled in the use of multimeters (including ohmmeters), testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Experience working on renovation and ground-up construction projects requiring coordination across multiple trades.
  • Background in complex system installations such as industrial controls, automation systems, or integrated electrical/low voltage infrastructure.
  • Additional handyman or framing/carpentry experience is a plus.

Duties

  • Install, wire, test, and troubleshoot electrical and low-voltage systems using blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Read and accurately interpret electrical and low-voltage schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
  • Install and service low-voltage systems, including security cameras, alarms, access control, data/communications cabling, and related infrastructure.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, multimeters (including ohmmeters), and other diagnostic and testing equipment to identify and resolve electrical and low-voltage issues.
  • Follow NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and applicable low-voltage regulations to ensure safety, compliance, and quality during installation and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades such as framing and renovation teams to coordinate electrical and low-voltage scope of work.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to all company and OSHA safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
