Job Description
The role of the Clinical Nurse Co-ordinator for Lower GI Cancer has a number of key objectives: Improved quality of life for patients and their families Improved co-ordination of diagnostic services to Lower GI Cancer patients. To facilitate education and training for health and social care professionals in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. To act as an informed resource and link person for patient and family carers and for health and social care professionals involved in the managing Lower GI Cancer patients To link with GI surgery service MMUH, PHNs, Palliative Care.
To plan, implement, deliver and evaluate care for a caseload of Lower GI Cancer patients. Collect and record data on Lower GI Cancer patients. The post holder will support the principle that care of the patient comes first at all times and will approach their work with the flexibility and enthusiasm necessary to make this principle a reality for every patient to the greatest possible degree.
