Job Description
Aquatrans Distributors Inc. requires an experienced Class 1 Truck Driver, based out of Delta, BC.
Nature of Position:
Any scheduled shift between Monday to Sunday. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs.
What You’ll Do
Aquatrans Distributors requires an experienced Class 1 Truck Driver for work on the Lower Mainland. As a Class 1 Truck Driver for Aquatrans you will be operating and driving primarily tractor-trailer, long-combination vehicles. You will be moving loaded B-trains and accessing the ports of Vancouver as well as completing reefer work.
You will:
- Perform trip inspections on equipment operated and the load, ensuring safety and roadworthiness, and maintaining proper logs of working hours and of vehicle service repair status
- Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, driver’s hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
- Record and maintain required documentation including but not limited to driver logbook, bills of lading, inspection logs, delivery receipts, etc. by manual or electronic means
- Operate truck and trailer in safety minded wa
- Transport various goods across the Lower Mainland
- Access the ports of Vancouver
- Move loaded B-trains
- Transport containers
- Other duties may be required
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- 2 years of tractor-trailer experience
- Safety conscious and safe operator
- B-train experience and container drayage experience are both considered strong assets
- Experience accessing the Ports of Vancouver is highly valued
