About the Role
As a Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning, design, coordination, and delivery of civil construction and infrastructure projects. Working closely with project teams, you will ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, within budget, and in accordance with engineering standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate civil construction activities in accordance with project specifications, engineering standards, and quality requirements.
- Prepare, review, and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction documentation.
- Coordinate site operations, including labour, plant, equipment, subcontractors, and material deliveries to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Conduct site investigations and assess geotechnical information to support safe and effective construction methods.
- Prepare project cost estimates, quantity calculations, budgets, and assist with project cost control.
- Monitor project progress and evaluate design changes, assessing their impact on project costs and timelines.
- Perform engineering and structural analysis to ensure infrastructure meets safety, stability, and compliance requirements.
- Assist in the design and development of roads, drainage systems, transport infrastructure, and other civil engineering works.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders throughout all stages of project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, environmental standards, and company policies.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant post‑qualification experience.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methodologies, and Australian Standards.
- Experience preparing engineering documentation, technical reports, and project cost estimates.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence or the ability to obtain one.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience in civil construction, mining, transport, or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and contract administration.
- Experience using engineering design and project management software.
