Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a CI/CD and developer platform team responsible for building, maintaining, and evolving large-scale internal engineering systems. This role combines people leadership, technical direction, and operational ownership of a critical platform used by hundreds (or thousands) of engineers. You will drive improvements in developer productivity, deployment reliability, and operational efficiency while ensuring the platform remains stable, scalable, and cost-effective. This is not a traditional product management role βhowever, you are expected to demonstrate a platform mindset , including understanding internal user needs, prioritizing engineering investments, and delivering measurable improvements to developer experience. What You Will Own 1. Team Leadership & People Management Manage, mentor, and grow a team of engineers (typically 5β10 members) Drive hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development Foster a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, quality, and continuous improvement Support engineers in technical growth and leadership progression 2. CI/CD Platform Ownership Own the end-to-end lifecycle of CI/CD systems (build, test, deploy pipelines) Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and usability for internal engineering teams Maintain high availability of production services supporting deployment workflows Define and enforce best practices for software delivery and release processes 3. DevOps & Platform Engineering Strategy Drive technical direction across: CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD) Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, etc.) Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Improve deployment frequency, lead time, and failure recovery metrics Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the software delivery lifecycle 4. Reliability, Operations & Incident Management Ensure strong operational practices: Monitoring, alerting, and observability Incident response and postmortem processes Improve platform stability and reduce operational overhead through automation Champion SRE principles such as error budgets and reliability engineering 5.
Stakeholder Collaboration (Platform Mindset) Work closely with internal engineering teams to understand platform pain points Prioritize roadmap initiatives based on engineering impact and efficiency gains Communicate trade-offs, risks, and progress clearly to stakeholders Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term platform scalability 6. Cost & Efficiency Optimization Manage infrastructure costs related to CI/CD workloads Drive initiatives to improve compute utilization and reduce waste Evaluate and adopt tools that improve efficiency without increasing complexity Required Experience 5+ years in software engineering / platform / DevOps roles 2+ years of engineering management experience , including: Team leadership Performance management Hiring and mentoring Hands-on experience with: CI/CD systems (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.) Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) Kubernetes and containerized environments Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent) Strong experience in: Production operations and incident management Building and maintaining internal platforms or developer tooling Proven ability to improve system reliability, scalability, and developer productivity Experience working in cross-functional environments with multiple stakeholders Fluent English communication skills
