Role Description
The Chief Product and Innovation Officer (CPIO) is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for recommending and implementing the approved research, innovation, strategic direction, development, commercialization, and operational management of the Company’s technology products and services. The role leads the identification, design, and implementation of innovative solutions, oversees product research and development activities, and ensures that the Company’s products support long‑term growth, technological advancement, and international market expansion. In addition to product leadership responsibilities, the CPIO serves as a key advisor to the President and Board of Directors and is expected to provide executive support across all areas of the business as required.
The ideal candidate may be based in the United States or Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Leadership
Develop and recommend the Company’s product vision, strategy, and roadmap and execute on approved plans. Ensure alignment between product initiatives, customer requirements, and corporate objectives. Evaluate market trends, customer feedback, competitive developments, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
Recommend strategic product investments and priorities to the Board and Executive Team.
Product Operations
Oversee the operational delivery of all Company products and services. Ensure product performance, reliability, quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction. Establish and monitor key performance indicators for product success and operational effectiveness.
Lead cross‑functional initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and profitability of product offerings. Coordinate product enhancements, releases, maintenance, and lifecycle management activities. Continuously enhance the Company’s proprietary platform and associated technology solutions.
Define product architecture, technical requirements, and long‑term technology roadmaps. Drive the creation of scalable, innovative solutions supporting international identity verification, decisioning solutions and related data services.
Customer and Commercial Support
Work closely with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure successful product outcomes. Support business development, sales, and customer retention initiatives through product expertise and strategic input. Participate in customer meetings and executive presentations as required.
Research, Innovation and Technology Development
Lead research and development initiatives relating to identity verification, data intelligence, digital trust, and decisioning technologies. Identify emerging technologies, market opportunities, and innovative approaches that may enhance the Company’s products and competitive position. Direct the design, development, and evolution of proprietary technology platforms, APIs, and product frameworks.
Evaluate artificial intelligence, machine learning, automation, and data technologies for potential incorporation into Company products and services. Oversee proof‑of‑concept initiatives, technology pilots, and experimental product development activities. Collaborate with external technology partners, data providers, and industry organizations to advance product innovation.
Develop and maintain product intellectual property, methodologies, and technical frameworks. Support the commercialization of newly developed products, technologies, and service offerings.
Executive Leadership
Serve as an active member of the Executive Leadership Team. Support the President in strategic planning, operational management, organizational development, and other business initiatives. Collaborate with executive leaders to achieve Company goals and objectives. Provide recommendations to the Board regarding product strategy, operational improvements, and growth opportunities.
Governance and Risk Management
Ensure products and related operations comply with applicable legal, regulatory, contractual, and industry requirements. Identify and manage operational, technical, and commercial risks associated with product delivery. Support corporate governance initiatives and Board reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline preferred. Advanced business or technical qualifications desirable.
- Experience: Significant executive leadership experience within technology, software, data, SaaS, or related industries. Experience in the identity and compliance space highly desirable. Experience managing innovation, research, or new product development programs. Experience evaluating emerging technologies and translating research into commercial products. Demonstrated success managing complex product portfolios and operational delivery functions. Experience working with executive leadership teams and Boards of Directors. Strong commercial, strategic, and operational management capabilities.
