The CDO will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for developing and executing multiyear fundraising strategies to support the organization's work. This includes managing a team of development staff and overseeing fundraising for the various entities within the organization. The successful candidate will be expected to build and maintain relationships with major donors, foundations, and other partners, and to work closely with the President and CEO, COO, and CFO to align fundraising efforts with the company's strategic goals. Applicants for the CDO position at the company should have a proven track record in nonprofit leadership, with more than 15 years' experience in managing a growing fundraising program and a demonstrated ability to raise funds at the $15M+ level. The role requires a strategic leader with excellent team management skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a strong commitment to the mission of the organization. The CDO will be responsible for leading a department of 5+ fundraisers, providing coaching and strategic guidance, and fostering a culture of philanthropy. A Bachelor's degree is required, and familiarity with both 501c3 and 501c4 fundraising is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the work of the company, be mission-aligned, and have the capacity to engage in high-level thought partnership to support the organization's goals.
