Job Overview
Fixed Term post for 6 months at the Phase 3 Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy. The role is for a Band 6 Charge Nurse/Team Leader in the Acute Theatre Suite, with a particular focus on Orthopaedic Trauma.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional and clinical support to the Senior Clinical Nurse Leader (SCN) and have delegated responsibility for planning and implementing patient‑centred care.
- Ensure standards of care are implemented within the operating theatre department.
- Manage shift and weekend work across all sites in Fife, working flexibly as required.
- Lead and motivate the theatre team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times and work cohesively within the multidisciplinary team.
- First Level Registration with either the NMC or HCPC.
- Educated to degree level or working towards a degree, or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
- Excellent time‑management, communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
- Team‑working and building skills, with the ability to motivate others.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Theatre experience at senior Band 5 level or higher.
- Become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
- Mandatory right‑to‑work checks for the United Kingdom.
