About the Role

Reporting to the CCR Business Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall leadership and performance of Timber Café.

You’ll oversee every aspect of the café's operations — from leading and developing your team to driving financial performance, maintaining exceptional food and coffee standards, ensuring compliance and identifying opportunities to grow the business.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll balance operational excellence with strategic thinking to ensure Timber continues to be a destination our community loves.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading People

Recruit, onboard and support team members to succeed.

Create a positive, collaborative and accountable team culture.

Manage performance, rostering and workforce planning.

Delivering Exceptional Hospitality

Ensure every customer enjoys an outstanding experience.

Maintain consistently high standards of food, coffee and service.

Foster a welcoming environment where customers feel valued and connected.

Driving Business Performance

Manage sales, labour and profitability targets.

Monitor budgets, stock, purchasing and supplier relationships.

Analyse performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.

Managing Operations

Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the café.

Implement systems and processes that improve consistency and efficiency.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives that support future growth.

Ensuring Compliance

Maintain compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety and regulatory requirements.

Coordinate audits, equipment maintenance and operational risk management.

About You

You'll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience managing a busy café, hospitality venue or similar environment.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop others.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience managing budgets and labour costs.
  • Experience with rostering, inventory management and supplier relationships.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Knowledge of food safety and workplace compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
