Business Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the delivery of a large-scale data migration project. Working across business and technology teams, you will be responsible for gathering and documenting requirements, analysing source and target data, facilitating stakeholder workshops, and ensuring successful migration outcomes through robust data mapping, validation, and testing activities.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience working on complex data initiatives, and the ability to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyse, and document business and functional requirements for data migration activities.
• Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders, SMEs, data owners, and technical teams.
• Perform current-state and future-state analysis of business processes and data flows.
• Develop and maintain source-to-target data mapping documentation.
• Define business rules, data transformations, and migration requirements.
• Support data profiling, data quality assessment, and remediation activities.
• Collaborate with solution architects, developers, and data engineers to ensure requirements are understood and delivered.
• Assist with migration planning, cutover activities, and impact assessments.
• Develop and execute business-focused test scenarios and support SIT, UAT, and data reconciliation activities.
• Identify, manage, and escalations risks, issues, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Produce high-quality project artefacts including business requirements, process maps, user stories, and traceability matrices.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst on large-scale data migration, transformation, or system implementation projects, particularly GCP
• Strong experience with data mapping, data lineage, and migration methodologies.
• Excellent requirements elicitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data sources.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Understanding of data quality, reconciliation, and validation processes.
• Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments.
• Advanced documentation skills and attention to detail.

Highly Desirable

• Financial Services, Banking, Insurance, Superannuation, or Wealth Management experience.
• Exposure to cloud migration, data warehouse, CRM, ERP, or platform replacement programs.
• SQL skills and experience working alongside data teams.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Visio, Miro, or similar tools.
