Job Description
Our client is a well-established commercial real estate owner and manager with a portfolio of office towers and mixed-use properties in Winnipeg. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable organization that invests in its people, its buildings, and long-term career development.
Your New Employer
Our client has built a reputation for owning and operating high-quality commercial properties where operational excellence, tenant satisfaction, and long-term asset performance are top priorities. Rather than simply maintaining buildings, they are committed to continually improving them through capital investment, modernization projects, and proactive maintenance.
You will join a collaborative property management and operations team that values initiative, accountability, and continuous learning. Leadership is approachable, supportive, and committed to helping employees expand their technical expertise, providing the mentorship and resources needed to build a long-term career in commercial real estate.
With an active portfolio, ongoing building improvements, and future opportunities for advancement, this is an ideal environment for someone looking to grow from a maintenance-focused role into a building operator position.
Your Role
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you will support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of a commercial office property. You will assist with preventative maintenance, building inspections, tenant service requests, contractor coordination, and the operation of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire and life safety, and building automation systems.
Working closely with the property management team, you will perform routine maintenance and repairs, complete preventative maintenance programs, maintain equipment logs and inspection records, and help coordinate maintenance contractors by obtaining quotations and following up on outstanding work. You will also participate in health and safety initiatives, emergency response activities, and ongoing efforts to improve building performance and tenant satisfaction.
What Sets You Apart
You are mechanically inclined and enjoy working with your hands while continuously expanding your technical knowledge. Whether your experience comes from commercial office, healthcare, institutional, industrial, government, or multi-family facilities, you take pride in maintaining safe, reliable, and well-presented buildings.
You are organized, dependable, and proactive, with strong customer service skills and the ability to build positive relationships with tenants, contractors, and colleagues. You are eager to learn, comfortable taking initiative, and excited by the opportunity to develop into a Building Operator as your career progresses.
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to join an organization that believes in developing its people while investing heavily in its properties. You'll gain exposure to major building system upgrades, capital projects, and experienced operations professionals who are committed to helping you succeed.
If you're looking for a company where you can build your technical skills, contribute to meaningful projects, and establish a long-term career in commercial building operations, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
Compensation
Expected base salary of $65,000 to $72,000 per year. This role is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is not guaranteed and may vary based on individual and company performance, commensurate with experience. Our client also offers 100% employer-paid health benefits and the opportunity to build a long-term career.
