Job Description

The award-winning Las Vegas-Clark County Library District is currently hiring for a Branch Manager for the Whitney Library. GENERAL SUMMARY Under the intermittent supervision of the Regional Manager, the Branch Manager provides operational and administrative leadership to a designated District branch. This position supervises and manages branch service delivery and directly/indirectly supervises branch staff.

The Branch Manager is responsible for fostering positive relationships within the community and providing oversight to branch projects, programs, and committees. Acts as Person-in-Charge (PIC) on a routine basis and as needed. DESCRIPTION OF HOURS AND WAGES Pay range: $110,113.95 to $147,563.68 per year.

Pay typically begins at the minimum, with eligibility for annual merit and COLA increases per District policy. Full-time (40 hours per week), FLSA exempt. *Relocation Reimbursement of up to $2,500 to assist with relocation of over 100 miles. APPLICATION DEADLINE Deadline: 11:59 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Day-to-day operational management of a designated library branch, including but not limited to: Planning short-term (daily to annual) operational goals.

Organizing the branch, departments, and employees to achieve established goals. Staffing within budgetary guidelines to meet service demand and skill needs. Directing staff to achieve established goals.

Coordinating with other branches and administrative departments to meet Branch and District goals. Developing, maintaining, and monitoring key Branch reporting metrics. Developing and monitoring the annual Branch budget.

Administrative supervision of assigned managers and staff: Performance coaching and management. Career counseling and development. Conflict resolution.

Oversee branch projects, programs, vendors, and committees. Build community partnerships and lead outreach initiatives. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local laws, regulations, codes, best practices, and District Policies and Procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned. CORE COMPETENCIES Competencies of Assistant Branch Manager plus: Managerial planning, organizing, directing, staffing, reporting, coordinating, and budgeting. SCHEDULE Sunday: 9:15 AM – 6:15 PM Monday: 9:15 AM – 6:15 PM Tuesday: 11:15 AM – 8:15 PM Wednesday: 9:15 AM – 6:15 PM Thursday: 9:15 AM – 6:15 PM *Schedule may change based on District needs.

Preferred: N/A Experience Required: Three (3) years as a professional librarian, with at least two (2) years at branch associate or department head level. Preferred: N/A LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION Required Possess or be able to obtain a valid Nevada Driver’s License at hire. Completion of LVCCLD PIC Training or corePIC Training within 6 months of assuming position.

Maintain AED/CPR certification within six months and keep it current. Preferred N/A ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES KSAs of Assistant Branch Manager plus: Knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to Library Management. Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities through organization and delegation.
