About the Position
Reporting to the Manager, Bookstore Services, the Lethbridge Polytechnic Bookstore requires an individual with strong organizational, technical, and interpersonal skills for the role of Course Materials Buyer.
The Course Materials buyer is responsible for procuring textbooks and additional course materials as per course requirements set by Academic Centres at Lethbridge Polytechnic. In addition to print course materials, specialized program supplies are purchased for resale by the Course Materials Buyer. They work closely with faculty as well as various textbook publishers and vendors to order the correct materials needed for each course.
- Navigate specialized inventory management software
- Plan upcoming terms and place orders accordingly
- Regular written and verbal communication with faculty and staff to order the correct materials needed for each course.
- Use of Microsoft Excel to compile month-end reporting to multiple entities, both internal and external to Lethbridge Polytechnic
- Offer assistance to students in navigating e-text activation and general questions related to course materials
- Coordinate with Printing Services in the production of custom coursepacks and Apprenticeship Module (ILM) packages
- Work with the Registrar's Office to order Convocation gowns and additional regalia for faculty, staff, and students
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Business, Procurement, or a related field
- Experience in a post-secondary setting
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- The ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve technical issues
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal
- Attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a bookstore retail environment
- Customer service experience
- Tech-savvy and the ability to learn new specialized software
Salary
AUPE Class Level 8, Step 2 $53,291.13 per annum.
