Department: Social Science and Commerce

Status: Sessional – Part-Time (25%) during Fall 2026 Semester

Disciplines: Sociology

Course Number and Title: 387-N01-MS: Individual and Society

Schedule: Wednesday & Friday 4:15pm-5:45pm

Classification: Based on Schooling and Experience

Contract Dates: August 17, 2026 to January 15, 2027

Nature and Scope

We are a seeking a dynamic and dedicated instructor to teach Sociology courses within the department of Social Science and Commerce. Main responsibilities include teaching, preparing, grading evaluations and holding regular office hours.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Sociology
  • Ability to teach a variety of courses within the discipline of Sociology
  • Ability to teach a variety of methodology courses in the Social Science program
    • Intellectual Methods in Social Science
    • Qualitative Research and/or Quantitative Analysis
    • Integrative Project in Social Science
  • Advanced knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative methodologies used in social science research, as demonstrated by successful completion of a graduate-level course and/or research conducted as part of a Master’s or Doctoral program, is essential
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills are essential
  • Teaching experience at the college level is an asset
  • Strong oral and written French communication skills are an asset
