Billing Analyst With Dental Experience The Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc. is currently seeking a detail-oriented Billing Analyst with dental experience. The Billing Analyst will be responsible for processing and managing dental patient billing, insurance claims, and payments accurately and in a timely manner. The role involves overseeing the entire claims management process from claims generation to the receipt of payment posting.
Responsibilities include maintaining procedures for efficient and accurate processing of encounters in the billing department, independently reviewing progress notes and assigning appropriate codes. The Billing Analyst will submit insurance claims in a timely manner, oversee the processing of all encounters and relevant information sent to insurance companies daily/weekly, ensuring the accuracy of claims submitted. Follow up on denials or underpayments as needed.
Additionally, the Billing Analyst will coordinate the paper/document flow related to billing and patient accounts under the direction of the Director of Billing, including correlating records and registration information as well as forwarding specific registration information to third-party billing. They will assist in identifying and establishing relationships with third-party insurers to enhance patient revenue. The role also involves supervising monitoring and reconciliation of all third-party insurance remittances and cash collections, preparing necessary written documentation, maintaining/analyzing records, reports, and statistics, and counseling patients on available insurance options.
The Billing Analyst will negotiate payment terms on outstanding patient balances owed, perform functions related to accounts receivable, credit, and collections, attend meetings as required, and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications include an associate's degree in business administration, accounting, medical assisting, or related field. Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology with proven experience in dental billing is required.
Familiarity with dental coding, insurance guidelines, billing processes, and electronic billing using EMR/EHR is necessary. Proficiency in ICD-9 and CPT coding, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities are also needed. Outstanding organizational, communication (verbal and written), and facilitation skills are essential.
Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office is required. Physical demands include periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping. The position may involve significant job-related stress, and evening work may be required.
