Position Overview

Gansevoort Meatpacking is seeking an experienced and passionate Beverage Manager to lead and elevate the beverage program across our dynamic food and beverage outlets.

The Beverage Manager will oversee beverage operations, standards, inventory, cost controls, menu development, training, and overall beverage quality while partnering closely with the Food & Beverage leadership team. This position requires a hands-on hospitality professional who understands both the creative and financial sides of running a successful beverage program in a high-volume, upscale environment.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, beer, beverage trends, and bar operations, along with the leadership skills necessary to develop teams and consistently deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee beverage operations and standards across the hotel’s food and beverage outlets.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve cocktail, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverage programs.
  • Partner with F&B leadership to create seasonal beverage menus and promotions aligned with the Gansevoort brand.
  • Maintain consistent beverage quality, presentation, recipes, portions, and service standards.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop bartenders and beverage-focused team members.
  • Lead ongoing beverage education and product knowledge training for F&B teams.
  • Monitor beverage costs, inventory levels, purchasing, transfers, waste, and variances.
  • Conduct and oversee regular beverage inventories and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Establish appropriate par levels and purchasing controls while maintaining product availability.
  • Work closely with vendors and distributors on product selection, pricing, programming, and new opportunities.
  • Monitor sales mix, beverage performance, and profitability and recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain responsible alcohol service practices and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and licensing requirements.
  • Ensure bars, storage areas, equipment, and beverage service areas are maintained to operational and sanitation standards.
  • Support daily operations during peak periods, special events, and high-volume services.
  • Collaborate with Restaurant, Rooftop, Events, Culinary, Finance, and Purchasing teams to ensure seamless beverage operations.
  • Stay informed on emerging beverage trends and identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive beverage, bar management, or food and beverage leadership experience, preferably in an upscale hotel, restaurant, nightlife, or high-volume hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, beer, and contemporary beverage trends.
  • Demonstrated experience managing beverage inventory, purchasing, cost controls, and profitability.
  • Strong leadership, training, and team-development skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance creativity with operational and financial discipline.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
  • Knowledge of New York City hospitality and nightlife markets is strongly preferred.
  • Flexibility to work schedule to include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. 
Compensation

Annual Salary: $85,000–$90,000, commensurate with experience.
