Gardner Autos is seeking a qualified and experienced Automotive Technician to join our growing service team.

The role
Working alongside an experienced team, you will perform a range of servicing, diagnostic and repair work across various vehicles while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and customer satisfaction.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting vehicle servicing, inspections and general maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical faults and recommending appropriate repairs
- Repairing and replacing engines, transmissions, suspension systems and other components
- Completing warranty repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines and company procedures
- Test-driving vehicles and completing final quality assessments
- Accurately recording repairs and work completed in internal systems
- Advising the Service Manager of any additional work required
- Ordering parts needed for servicing and warranty repairs
- Maintaining current knowledge of automotive technology and mechanical developments
- Providing guidance and support to apprentice technicians when required
- Following all workplace health, safety and security procedures
- Delivering a high standard of service to customers and internal departments
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A recognised automotive technician or motor mechanic qualification
- Relevant industry certification to work as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic
- Strong vehicle servicing, diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Sound knowledge of engines, brakes, electrical systems, transmissions and suspension
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A customer-focused attitude and excellent work ethic
- A current Australian C Class driver’s licence
- Previous post‑trade experience in a similar role is highly regarded
- Experience supporting or training apprentices is desirable
