ABOUT THE ROLE

Our independent dealership has been built on hustle, relationships, and a genuine love for the business — and now we need the financial backbone to match. We're looking for a seasoned accounting professional who has lived and breathed the dealership world and is ready to step in, take ownership, and build something solid.

Responsibilities:

• Be the primary administrator of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise — from chart of accounts to custom reporting
• Keep the vehicle inventory ledger airtight: tracking every unit from acquisition through sale, including cost basis and flooring lines
• Run the full AP/AR cycle and make sure nothing falls through the cracks
• Close the books on a regular cadence — daily spot checks, weekly summaries, and clean monthly financials
• Produce meaningful P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports that actually drive decisions
• Hunt down discrepancies before they become problems and put permanent fixes in place
• Stay ahead of sales tax deadlines, TAVT filings, and all state/local compliance obligations
• Manage payroll end-to-end, including tax deposits and filings
• Partner with ownership on budgeting, forecasting, and spotting opportunities to run leaner
• Provide day-to-day direction to office staff (team of 15–20) as needed

 

Qualifications:

These are non-negotiable.

• At least 3 years handling accounting at a franchised or independent car dealership
• Mastery of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise — QBO experience alone will not qualify you
• Deep fluency in vehicle inventory accounting and how it flows through the financials
• Hands-on familiarity with Georgia sales tax, TAVT calculations, and deal paperwork
• Someone who needs minimal oversight and holds themselves to a high standard

NICE TO HAVE

• You've managed the books across more than one legal entity simultaneously
• Your title has included Controller, Accounting Manager, or Full-Charge Bookkeeper
