Automation Engineer with a Focus on Drive Technology (m/f/d)

Overview

In this role you design and implement advanced automation concepts and system designs for dynamic, precise machine movements. You will select drive components, parameterize motion control loops, and commission drive systems and industrial networks. You’ll implement and validate safety-related drive functions and lead risk assessments aligned with international standards.

You’ll develop and extend automation software, especially PLC programming with TwinCAT, collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver robust automation solutions.

• Develop complex automation concepts and system designs, including drive component selection
• Implement and tune motion control loops for speed, torque and position
• Assemble, parameterize, commission and test drive systems and industrial communication networks
• Implement and validate safety-related drive functions
• Conduct risk assessments and evaluate machine hazards per international standards
• Develop, maintain and extend automation software, particularly PLC programming with TwinCAT

• Completed degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, mechatronics or comparable field
• Solid knowledge of control engineering, power electronics, and industrial fieldbus systems (desirable)
• Very good knowledge of PLC programming
• Confident handling of programming languages
