- Obtain and review financial information and requirements to ensure loan criteria are valid with no material adverse changes (e.G., rent rolls, operating statements, financial/net worth statements)
- Proactively manage assigned mortgage portfolio to ensure all required conditions for commercial mortgages are fulfilled to the satisfaction of investors and CMHC
- Demonstrate working knowledge of commercial lending, underwriting, and core documents
- Review and make recommendations to Senior Management on property insurance renewals and other documentation as required
- Understand Mortgage Products and functions within Mortgage Servicing (document management, payment processing, statements, insurance, annual financial reviews)
- Adhere to policy and procedures, service levels and compliance
- Respond to inquiries and interface with borrowers and other stakeholders per servicing and policy standards
- Obtain and review solicitor final documentation as per mortgage Commitment and update mortgage system
- Ensure mortgage security is valid and legally binding;
provide supporting documents timely by solicitors;
knowledge of relevant mortgage documentation - Apply problem solving skills to meet service standards
- Demonstrate excellent time management and ability to handle high volumes
- Collaborate with the team to recommend and implement process improvements to build efficiencies
- Prioritize and multi-task;
complete special projects as assigned - Adhere to AML requirements where applicable
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce or related preferred
- Post-secondary education and/or equivalent work experience preferred
- 2-3 years of experience in Financial Services, Mortgages, preferably in commercial mortgages
- Bilingual (French, English) required – interactions with English-speaking and French-speaking clients or partners
- Office environment with periods of high volume and tight timelines
- Long periods of sitting;
prolonged computer use - Multi-tasking which may include speaking to customers on a call while looking up information
